The woman flashed her lantern around the farmyard searching the pools of icy covered water. She saw something quiver in one of the muddy pools. There it was again! The sight of human features...a nose and mouth reflected in her light. She gasped and stared at the semblance of a face barely above water. Cautiously, she walked toward the unnatural muddy pool with its waters quivering and set her lantern down. Slowly, she reached her hand down to touch the trembling mass, and felt the icy cold face. Instinctively, she withdrew from the cold touch of death.
